The Role:

Tinder is looking for a Product Designer to lead, inspire and innovate as we continue to develop the safest and most trusted dating platform! You’ll use your full range of product design skills to solve problems and craft delightful experiences. You’ll partner with a cross-functional team to identify new opportunities, create and test concepts, and deliver end-to-end solutions that are valuable, usable, and enjoyed by Tinder’s diverse and global user base. You’ll drive change in this space alongside a tight knit and passionate group of peers focused on Trust, Safety and Responsibility initiatives on the Integrity team @ Tinder. 

This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration three times per week. This position is located Los Angeles, CA.

What you'll do:

  • Create a unified design of new features and updates from concept to release.
  • Design visual interfaces, wire frames, user flows, and compelling interactions. Explore and experiment with the future of the Tinder interface.
  • Become a subject matter expert in designing IRL safety tools, spam detection, harassment, and inclusion strategies.
  • Be an advocate for users of all genders, ages, orientations, identities, abilities, class, culture, ethnicities, location and race.
  • Translate complex ideas into elegant and intuitive designs.
  • Be a champion of storytelling by communicating ideas, goals, and problems in ways that are accessible to those unfamiliar with the project.
  • Build strong partnerships with product, engineering, and analytics, as well as collaborate with Marketing, Legal, Regulatory, Communications, and Brand Creative.
  • Thoughtfully consider every detail of new and existing experiences, regularly seeking guidance from various inputs, including community partners, our diverse member perspectives, research papers, and other sources.
  • Maintain and champion design quality and cohesion across your own and adjacent product teams, and flag quality concerns to the responsible designers and design managers.
  • Contribute to the culture by identifying and helping to coordinate opportunities to spread design thinking and enthusiasm throughout Tinder and the wider design community.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of professional experience, with 2 in mobile design
  • Fluent in all stages of the 0 to 1 product design process, including discovery, research, conceptualization, information architecture, prototyping, interaction design, micro-interactions and design QA with engineering.
  • An excellent sense of typography, layout, and general design principles
  • Experience designing for Android, iOS, and web. Knowledge of Apple’s HIG patterns & Material design.
  • Outstanding visual design skills and strong understanding of foundational design basics (form, color theory and typography).
  • Proficient in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools.
  • Self starter attitude with excitement to work in a fast paced and low ego environment

Salary Range:
