About Tinder

Tinder, the most popular dating app in the world, is searching for a Senior Communications Manager to join the EMEA comms team, focusing primarily on the UK as well as proactively supporting the Nordics markets (Sweden, Denmark, and Norway).

The role 

We’re on the search for a Senior Communications Manager with expert knowledge of the challenging and compelling UK media landscape. You’ll be an expert storyteller, knowing how to both promote and protect the incredible brand that is Tinder. You’ll be involved in all areas of the business, from company narratives to new feature launches, highjacking cool news agendas, to creating your own ‘tentpole’ moments.



The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual and all-around team player. They’ll live and breathe the UK media, understanding what’s hot and what’s…getting cool.  They’ll have a rich experience in consumer-facing brands and won’t be afraid to dip their toe outside of the British Isles and support the Nordic markets. Experience with Nordic media is a plus but not essential, as they’ll be wise to know how best to leverage campaigns and plans from the UK into other international markets. 



As a generalist role, this role encompasses brand reputation-driving strategy (consumer-focused comms), product communications (new features, innovation, and trust & safety), and corporate communications (crisis, reputation management, and executive positioning). 



This role is for someone who knows their stuff and wants to take their career to the next level. They’ll be helping to drive the strategy of one of Tinder’s most mature markets (the UK). Equally, they won’t be afraid to roll up their sleeves as they’ll be expected to handle media inquiries as well as agency management directly. 



This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Communications, Northern Europe, and operate from our Central London office in a hybrid work environment, requiring in-office partnership 3x a week.

You Will:

  • Partner with Senior Director Communications, Northern Europe on driving and delivering on Northern European communications strategies (heavily weighted to the UK) related to company narratives as well as new features and updates and ownable cultural moments.
  • Collaborate across the Tinder team (EMEA and global) to support on integrated teams on key pillars including trust and safety, inclusivity and Gen Z audiences. 
  • Partner with teams across the business to build impactful integrated campaigns that make people sit up and take notice. Cross functional collaboration including marketing, social as well as working with comms team across our parent company (Match Group) portfolio.
  • Lead and hande our “best in class” resources (like media monitoring, team critical metrics and media relations tracking).
  • Directly engaging with media and external partners.
  • Supervise agency resources and planning from daily management to coordinating global announcements, ad hoc news moments and reporting.
  • Be the customer - understand everything there is to know about Tinder and able to tell Tinder’s story


You Have:

  • 8+ years experience (ideally) in both agency and in-house roles for a consumer-facing brand. 
  • Spark Solutions: You proactively seek opportunities and tackle challenges head-on, allowing creative moments to spark.
  • You don’t sweat it under pressure - experience in handling challenging press inquiries. 
  • A phenomenal and compelling storyteller who understands what makes something interesting for media. 
  • A positive, can-do attitude 
  • A concise communicator in a 'hands-on' role, detailed and highly-organised
  • Passionate about communications and consumer empowerment
  • Own it: You're a whizz at consumer tech product communications, having successfully orchestrated numerous product feature launches with cross-functional teams.
  • Understand the UK media landscape (especially for today’s 18-25-year-olds) inside out. 
  • Thinks beyond a press release, “gets” social and what makes a story travel 
  • Knows how to successfully manage an agency on a day-to-day basis, including writing strategic briefs/memos as well as decks for compelling plans
  • Embrace our Differences You understand this is more of a generalist role oscillating between product, corporate, and trust & safety.
  • A smart minimalist - You know how to keep things simple. You know that communications can be complex and will resist and prevent that. You do not need or desire big budgets for big results.
  • Never Stop Learning: You possess the ability to devise and execute communications campaigns and can develop and expand, capable of developing and expanding ambitious strategies.
