We are intentional about building a workplace that reflects the rich diversity of our members. By leveraging different perspectives and other ways of thinking, we build better experiences for our members and our team.

The Role:

In this role you will handle high-profile projects that touch product and brand design across multiple platforms and features worldwide, while also improving both how we work and what we work on. From product launches to marketing initiatives, process docs to workload management, you and the design team’s work will directly impact the experience for millions of our members. You are familiar with product design workflows and have experience working with designers across product design, marketing, and design system specialties. You have an understanding of the design and development process and the ability to push timelines when needed, as well as curating and strengthening the design culture at Tinder. You will partner closely with the VP of Design, and contribute to the development and success of a tight-knit design team, driving high quality results while meeting ambitious deadlines. You are a thoughtful and effective leader, deeply detail oriented, and comfortable with change and uncertainty in a dynamic work environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Establish the Design Operations function within the company by creating standard methodologies, aligning partners and managing expectations within the larger product organization
  • Partner with Product Design, Content Design, Brand Design and User Experience Research to prioritize, staff and manage projects
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Program Management Organization to standardize and align processes, tooling and priorities across the entire business
  • Work with teams across the organization including front-end and back-end engineers, designers, product managers, localization, communications, and marketing
  • Develop training programs to establish and enforce design standards across marketing and product
  • Manage design resources, tools and budgets across the design team
  • Actively contribute to developing the culture of design at Tinder, including mentoring others, advocating for design and research
  • Build and launch the development and production workflows of innovative media, content types, and product features
  • Proactively identify issues and solutions, and marshal resources vital to attack and resolve. Coordinate with teams to identify issues, prioritize tasks and track risks to schedule and product quality, including cross-functional dependencies across engineering, product, and marketing
  • Drive on time delivery and deployment, identifying development and feasibility needs, establishing achievements for checkpoints and status updates
  • Lead highly cross-functional meetings and own translating content requirements into clear documentation to ratify decisions and ensure designers meet those requirements

About You

  • Experience with establishing processes and/or team culture within product design and/or brand design teams
  • You can independently translate high-level ideas into practical plans, and can adapt to constant change and ambiguous situations while simultaneously driving multiple complex projects
  • An open, communicative, and reliable leader who is able to work closely with cross-functional partners, organizational leaders, as well as direct reports
  • You have a bias towards action and are able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving work environment

What You’ll Need

  • 10+ years experience as a Design Program Manager, Producer and/or Design Ops leader in a fast-paced product design, brand team, or creative agency
  • Proven experience in successfully delivering sophisticated programs and leading through change management
  • Deep expertise in partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Design, Research, and Marketing teams
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with customer-centric product development lifecycles
  • Experience leading large cross functional collaborations with internal partners and 3rd parties/vendors
  • Strong communication skills, ability to independently draft and present deliverables, recommendations and strategies
  • Demonstrated skill of negotiating and distilling sophisticated requirements from multiple partners into a coherent brief
