Tinder Culture Corner: Celebrating Our Values and Our People

How the Tinder Code guides our work, and how we’re celebrating the Culture Carriers who live the code and lead by example.

“The Tinder Code and our Culture Carrier program are a big part of what makes Tinder an extraordinary place to work and an enduring and iconic brand” said Match Group CEO Spencer Rascoff. “Culture isn’t something you write down and never look at again. It comes to life in how your people show up, the choices they make, and how they support one another every day. Our Culture Carriers lead by example, make their teams stronger, and help us build an even better Tinder for our users around the world.”

At TinderⓇ, culture is built with intention and focus, rooted in our values, and embodied by our people. When Spencer Rascoff stepped in as CEO in 2025, Tinder stood at a natural turning point, ready to re-activate our purpose under new leadership. Our mission: to spark meaningful connections for every single person worldwide. That meant making sure Tinder felt less like a numbers game for our users and more like a meaningful, fulfilling experience.

We had the what. Next we needed the how, which we couldn’t do without the dedication and engagement of our team. A team that’s driven, first and foremost, by our why.

That's the spark behind the Tinder Code.

Our Culture: The Tinder Code

Here, culture is a verb. We live it. We cultivate it. And we celebrate it. The Tinder Code, a set of values that guide how we show up and what we expect from each other. Regardless of role or department, here’s what it means to be a part of Team Tinder:

These commitments shape how we work. When we embrace them, we help each other in key moments and we move forward in a way that feels both personal and purposeful. Behind every connection, every communication, every innovation, is a team that’s united by more than a product or a place of employment. We’re strengthened by a common set of interconnected beliefs.

Living the Code: Culture Carriers

Those beliefs deepen even further when people get to see them in action. That’s the idea behind the Culture Carrier program, which was created to recognize and celebrate employees who embody these values through everyday actions that lead to enduring impact.

During each nomination period, employees have the opportunity to nominate colleagues who demonstrate one or more of our company values. Through their nominations, employees share stories of how these individuals have supported teammates, driven results, and helped strengthen our culture.

Every quarter, we applaud our six winners both internally and publically, singing their praises wherever we can. It’s a chance to champion their efforts, and our culture, even further.

Once it’s time to pass the torch, past Culture Carrier winners get a chance to keep their momentum going, reviewing and selecting future honorees. Having lived the Tinder Code themselves, they're able to recognize those same behaviors in others and help ensure the program remains deeply rooted in the values it was created to celebrate.

The Code works because people choose to carry it, every day, in ways big and small. Every Culture Carrier who steps up sets the bar a little higher for the next one. That's one of the core ways Team Tinder keeps moving forward, together.
